when it rains ... it pours

We have have had the busiest past month. I sometimes feel like I am about to go crazy with the stress of it all. It started out with Thayne getting laid-off from work, then we had Taysia, Christmas came and went, along with new years, then Thayne was supposed to start school on the 8th, but had to skip the first day of class because his dad had a massive stroke and passed away Thursday morning at 5:30 am.
I think this past week has been the most difficult for us with the passing of Thayne's father. I hope I never have to go through it with my own parents because just watching Thayne and his siblings fall apart with emotion is difficult enough for me. It makes me feel guilty for not making more of the time that we had with his dad, and yet grateful that we were able to have as many memories with him as we did. He was such a happy person, and a wonderful Grandpa. Jarom was his little buddy. I only wish that Jarom was old enough that he would be able to remember more of Grandpa and what he was like. If I have learned anything, it is that we have to treasure each moment that we have in life, whether it is big or small, and to make the most of the memories that we have to build and share together. Because in the end, that is what we are left with; the wonderful memories and pictures, and moments that we were able to spend with the people that we love the most.

Wow. That sure is a lot for a family to take all at once. I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Thayne's father. Please give him a huge hug for me. I love you all and you will be in my prayers for sure.
