Have you ever stumbled across one of those amazing finds where you just want to jump up and down with excitement? I have! Actually, I have found quite a few this year... at yard sales! I love finding useful things, treasures, decor for the house, and even those strange random things that I never thought I would find at a yard sale. Sometimes the item needs a facelift, but in the end, I have an awesome new "thing" and a price to brag about.
First, I never pay the full price for anything. If they are asking $10 see if they will take $5. After all, isn't the idea of a yard sale to get rid of things that you don't want any more? Most of the time they just want to get rid of it.
I also set limits! If I know I can buy something for "X" dollars new, then there is no way I'm going to pay a similar price for something that is used... even gently used.

I try to think ahead of what I need right now. Chances are I won't see what I need the minute I need it, but if I am thinking about the future and what I WILL need, I can usually find an awesome deal and have it by the time I am ready for it.

I take small bills. It always seems wierd to me to hand someone a $50 bill if you talk someone down from $20 to $10.

Go early! The best deals go fast! But if you can't go early.... sometimes you find treasures that people are willing to almost give away because in an hour or so they are loading everything up for DI anyway!
(Jarom's bike isn't pictured, neither is our awesome bike cart because I accidentally deleted the pictures off the camera.)

Wow!! That is all I can say - you seem to find the most amazing deals. I guess it pays to get up early and hit those sales!
DUDE! We have scored so many cool things this summer at yard sales, I keep meaning to blog about it. For example - a great condition mini George Foreman rotisserie for....FIVE BUCKS! Those things are like over $100, I was (and still am, obviously) STOKED!
